Although Bass Rock Financial Management formally commenced trading on 1 May 2021, Colin Ferrier, Bass Rock's Owner / Director, has been hatching the plans for this business over the last seven years. Colin has a passion for small businesses and after training with PwC in Aberdeen, then moved to work with several SME's which he really loved. After getting some very different experience working for several larger blue chip companies and some time in Financial Services, Colin decided to move back to where his real passion lies, supporting smaller businesses where the effects of decisions taken can be seen almost immediately. Colin has been a mentor under the Entrepreneurial Spark scheme and is a former Tutor at Heriot Watt University. He is a hands-on, practical guy and believes in maintaining a positive mindset and a can-do attitude, creating partnerships with a purpose, and always striving for significant outcomes.
